What is an escape room and who can play?

An escape room is an immersive, interactive, themed adventure in which players find clues and solve challenging puzzles. Anyone can play that’s looking for something fun and different to do! It’s suitable for teams of friends, family, colleagues, or anyone special that you want to share some valuable time with.

How do I book an experience and buy tickets?

Just click on the “Book Now” button, choose a day and time from the schedule here on our website then pay using your Apple Pay, debit or credit card. You will receive an email that confirms your booking. If you need any help, call (818) 912-6868.  
We do not accept cash.  There are no refunds

Can I book the experience a second time?

Accepted Answer

Yes, absolutely, especially if your team didn’t get that far the first time and would like to try again. Call to book a room to receive a discount for returning players.

Is any special knowledge required?

Not at all. All the information you need to successfully complete our adventure is built into the experience.

Will I be sharing the experience with strangers?

Never.  You will only be with the family and friends you came with.

What isn’t allowed in the rooms?

Phones should be turned off so as not to break the mood. We don’t allow cameras, weapons, alcoholic beverages, food, drinks, flashlights (other than ones we provide), lighters, tools, smoking,  or illegal substances in any of our adventures. This is for your safety and our insurance providers. Our adventure contains everything you need to solve the puzzles and have a great time!

Where can we store personal belongings?

How difficult are your adventures?

Our adventures are medium to challenging depending on your experience and skill set. Our adventures are mainly designed to deliver fun and to enjoy the environment. However, if your team gets stuck, you can always ask for hints from the friendly Game Master.

Is it scary?

The lighting may be subtle to achieve a mood, but “The Key of Destiny,” is more about the story, the atmosphere, and having fun with family and friends rather than delivering shocks or scares!

Is there an age limit?

Accepted Answer

We do not allow children under age 11 to participate, and we reserve the right to request an ID from customers who might be minors.  A responsible adult is required in the room for all teens 17 and under.

*If participants are unable to hear us communicate with you in the game due to everyone talking all at once, the game master may be required to be present in the room for all communication.

How long before our scheduled time slot should we arrive?   
What if I'm late?

Guests must arrive no later than 15 minutes ahead of their scheduled booking time so that you can sign waivers, use the restroom, and for a briefing before your game. 
        
We recommend that all players arrive on time. Arrive after your booking time and the game may start without you or your time slot may be forfeited without a refund.

Traffic in Los Angeles can be very unpredictable so please allow extra time to arrive. An app such as Waze can be helpful in finding the quickest route to our location: (waze.com).

What are your hours?

We are closed Mondays and Tuesdays. 
Wednesday - Fridays  1pm to 10pm         
Sat & Sun  11am to 10pm

The adventure is 60 minutes.

Including check-in, briefing, and debriefing, expect to spend about 75 to 90 minutes at our facility.

(Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of your adventure for check-in and briefing.)

How many hints do we get in the experiences?

Question 14

Do any of the experiences require a lot of physical activity?

Accepted Answer

You’ll be standing and walking, but our adventure doesn’t require any strenuous physical activity like climbing, moving heavy objects, crawling, or running.

What should I bring or wear?

Accepted Answer

We suggest you wear comfortable clothing and shoes (no high heels or open-toed shoes), and bring reading glasses if you need them for certain puzzles and clues. We also suggest you bring a sense of adventure!

Do you serve food and alcohol?

Accepted Answer

No, we are not able to have food on the premises, but there are a number of restaurants nearby. You can get a list in our lobby if your team would like to chat over a delicious meal after your exciting adventure!

Is there a behavior code?

We respectfully request that each team member be courteous and helpful to each other and to our staff. You are a guest in our “house.”

If it’s determined that a member of your team is acting irresponsibly, irrationally, is inebriated, or under the influence of drugs, or poses a danger to themselves or others, they will be prevented from playing and/or asked to leave.

What happens if we damage something during the experience?

If an item is damaged, the game will be “frozen” for a few minutes while the damaged item is repaired or replaced by our staff. You will lose that time from the game. Once you’re cleared, your adventure can resume.

We understand accidents happen, but if your team deliberately damages items, the adventure will end. You will be asked to leave and you will not receive a refund. Additionally, depending on the cost of repairing or replacing any deliberately damaged item, it might be added to the card that was used to book the slot.

Any advice for having a positive, successful experience?

Follow the Team Code. Search for items that aren’t locked away. Communicate often with all the members of your team.

READ EVERYTHING!  :)  It may provide you with information to help you solve a puzzle. If you find something, or figure out a clue or a puzzle, don’t keep it to yourself. Let everyone know. Nothing wastes more time or is more frustrating than a team member working on a puzzle that another member has already solved, or searching for an item that someone has already found and failed to mention.

It’s often helpful to take an inventory of items and solutions now and then so everyone can see the progress your team has made and so you can all work together to move forward.

However, success isn’t always just about completing the mission. Our environments are designed to allow players to feel like they’ve entered another time and place.

If you take your time and soak up the atmosphere, your experience will be that much more satisfying whether or not you complete the mission.
