About Boggled

Boggled Escape Rooms (Boggled LLC) is owned and operated by us: Darryl Anka & Erica Jordan. Escape rooms, escape games, and interactive adventures are the fastest-growing form of entertainment around the globe! Escape rooms are challenging and fun and are great for dates, birthday & graduation gifts, hanging with friends, family-time, and corporate team-building events. The first Boggled adventure takes your team of Explorers through three chambers in pursuit of Sophie, a team member who opened a forbidden ancient Egyptian artifact called “The Key of Destiny,” that summoned Set, the ancient Egyptian god of chaos, and altered reality. Sophie has vanished without a trace. Your mission is to find her, solve the challenges posed by Set, and return the Key of Destiny to your headquarters before our reality is altered forever. We are developing a second adventure and will reveal it on our website when it’s ready. We promise it will be like no other escape room you’ve done! If you're asking "is Boggled an escape room near me?" We are located in Los Angeles County, off Ventura Blvd in Calabasas, CA

Boggled FAQ!

  • What is an escape room?
An escape room is an immersive, interactive, themed adventure in which players find clues and solve challenging puzzles. While the term “escape room” is still used because of public familiarity, many modern escape rooms are more about having an immersive, interactive adventure, achieving a goal, or going on a mission as a team. Escape rooms are challenging and fun and are great for dates, couples, birthday parties, and team-building events.
  • Do you just have the one adventure?
For now. We are developing a second adventure and will reveal it on our website when it’s ready. We promise it will be like no other escape room you’ve done!
  • What does the adventure cost?
Tickets are $45 per person. Please note: Minimum is 2 people for $100.00 during the week and $130.00 Fri-Sun. All sales are final and non-refundable.
  • How many people can participate at once?
The adventure is designed for two to eight players. However, you can book for up to twelve players. We don't recommend that you do more than twelve, due to the size of the second room and allow everyone the opportunity to do the puzzles. As a reminder, for 2 people, we charge a minimum fee of $100.00
  • How do I book an experience and buy tickets?
Just click on the “Book Now” button, choose a day and time from the schedule here on our website then pay using your debit or credit card. You will receive an email that confirms your booking. If you need any help, call (818) 912-6868. We do not accept cash.
  • Can we add or subtract people after we’ve booked?
Yes, but please call us ahead with any changes you’d like to make in your original booking.
  • Can I book the experience a second time?
Yes, absolutely, especially if your team didn’t get that far the first time and would like to try again. Call to book a room to receive a discount for returning players.
  • Where do we park?
After you turn into the driveway of our complex, continue all the way to the end of the parking lot. Please park in any spaces for suite 130 with the red and white signs that say “Boggled Escape Rooms.” You'll see our Boggled Escape Room signs in the windows.
  • What’s your cancellation policy?
Once you've booked, if you need to reschedule, call 48 hours ahead of your booking and we'll be happy to set up another time for you to visit Boggled Escape Rooms. If you call after 48 hours there will be a rebooking fee of $30.00. There are no refunds.
  • What are your health protocols?
We clean and wipe down all items in our room between bookings. A guest showing any symptoms of a contagious illness, whether Covid, the flu, or even a cold, will not be allowed to play and will be asked to leave.
  • What isn’t allowed in the rooms?
Phones should be turned off so as not to break the mood. We don’t allow cameras, weapons, alcoholic beverages, food, drinks, flashlights (other than ones we provide), lighters, tools, smoking, or illegal substances in any of our adventures. This is for your safety and our insurance providers. Our adventure contains everything you need to solve the puzzles and have a great time!
  • Where can we store personal belongings?
There are lockers in the lobby where you can store your things.
  • Do we need to fill out a liability waiver?
Yes, please. We have to satisfy our insurance provider. You can sign your waivers online from the email you receive when you book an adventure. Or go to our website and click the Sign Waiver button, or you can use our QR code to sign in on arrival for members of your party who didn’t book the appointment themselves.
  • Will we actually be locked in the rooms? What if I have to use the bathroom?
No. The rooms are never really locked in case of emergencies, and each chamber has an emergency exit that’s clearly marked. If you need to use the restroom, please do, then rejoin your team.
  • How difficult is your adventure?
The Key Of Destiny is medium to challenging depending on your experience and skill set. Our adventure is mainly designed to deliver fun and to enjoy the environment. However, if your team gets stuck, you can always ask for hints from the friendly Game Master.
  • Is it scary?
The lighting may be subtle to achieve a mood, but “The Key of Destiny,” is more about the story, the atmosphere, and having fun with family and friends rather than delivering shocks or scares!
  • Is there an age limit?
Due to the potential for breakage or injury: A responsible adult is required for all teens 17 and under. *If participants are unable to hear hear us communicate with you in the game due to everyone talking all at once, the game master may be required to be present in the room for all communication. We do not allow children under age 11 to participate, and we reserve the right to request an ID from customers who might be minors. Anyone under age 11 will not be admitted and NO REFUND will be given. Children CANNOT be left unattended in the lobby. If you have any questions, please call: 818-912-6868
  • How long before our scheduled time slot should we arrive?
We encourage all guests to arrive no later than 15 minutes ahead of their scheduled booking time so that we can brief you, and so you have time to use the restroom. Traffic in Los Angeles can be very unpredictable so please allow extra time to arrive. An app such as Waze can be helpful in finding the quickest route to our location: (
  • If I’m late, can I still participate?
We have a ten minute buffer for late comers. Arrive after that, and the game may start without you or your time slot may be forfeited without a refund.
  • What are your hours?
We are closed on Mondays. Tues - Fridays 1pm to 10pm Sat & Sun 11am to 10pm The adventure is 60 minutes. Including check-in, briefing, and debriefing, expect to spend about 75 to 90 minutes at our facility. (Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of your adventure for check-in and briefing.)
  • Do you offer gift certificates?
We sure do! You may purchase gift certificates on our website.
  • Do you have discounts?
We have discounts at certain times or holidays which we announce on our website and on FB & IG. Subscribe to our website and you will be emailed a code for $10 OFF. However, we do not use Groupon.
  • Will I be sharing the experience with strangers?
Never. You will only be with the family and friends you came with.
  • How many hints do we get in the experiences?
As many as you need . . .
  • Do any of the experiences require a lot of physical activity?
You’ll be standing and walking a lot, but our adventure doesn’t require any strenuous physical activity like climbing, moving heavy objects, crawling, or running.
  • What about those of us who are claustrophobic?
The rooms and spaces in our adventure are about the average size of rooms and hallways in a house or an office, although lighting is dimmer and more atmospheric. Claustrophobic participants who have played the room have had no problem. However, if you are concerned, we suggest you call and talk to a staff member to get more specific information. We want all our players to feel comfortable and at ease in our adventure.
  • What if I’m pregnant?
There’s nothing in our adventure that would cause undue stress, and there is at least one chair in the adventure as part of the decor if a player needs to sit for a moment. However, you will be standing and walking for most of the experience. It’s always best to give us a call to make sure all of your questions are properly addressed. Your comfort, health, and enjoyment are our first priority.
  • Is your facility ADA compliant?
Our adventure is on the ground floor and our doors and hallways all comply with ADA regulations. Plus, there are ADA spaces in the parking lot. However, one room in the adventure is smaller than the others and it may be a bit of a challenge to navigate in a wheelchair. Please call for specifics.
  • Is any special knowledge required?
Not at all. All the information you need to successfully complete our adventure is built into the experience.
  • What should I bring or wear?
You’ll be standing and walking a lot so we suggest you wear comfortable clothing and shoes (no high heels or open-toed shoes), and bring reading glasses if you need them for certain puzzles and clues. We also suggest you bring a sense of adventure!
  • What if something malfunctions?
We will do our best to quickly repair or replace the malfunctioning puzzle or prop. If we are unable to do so, your team will be given the information or prop necessary to continue playing, or allowed to reschedule your booking for another day and time for free with our sincere apology. Again, there are no refunds for any reason.
  • Do you have restrooms?
We have two gender-neutral restrooms. We highly recommend that your team members use the restrooms prior to entering the adventure so as to not interrupt the game flow.
  • Do you serve food and alcohol?
No, we do not have the room for groups to have food on the premises, but there are a number of restaurants nearby. You can get a list in our lobby if your team would like to chat over a delicious meal after your exciting adventure!
  • Is there a behavior code?
We respectfully request that each team member be courteous and helpful to each other and to our staff. You are a guest in our “house.” If it’s determined that a member of your team is acting irresponsibly, irrationally, is inebriated, or under the influence of drugs, or poses a danger to themselves or others, they will be prevented from playing and/or asked to leave.
  • What happens if we damage something during the experience?
If an item is damaged, the game will be “frozen” for a few minutes while the damaged item is repaired or replaced by our staff. You will lose that time from the game. Once you’re cleared, your adventure can resume. We understand accidents happen, but if your team deliberately damages items, the adventure will end. You will be asked to leave and you will not receive a refund. Additionally, depending on the cost of repairing or replacing any deliberately damaged item, it might be added to the card that was used to book the slot.
  • Any advice for having a positive, successful experience?
Follow the Team Code. Search for items that aren’t locked away. Communicate often with all the members of your team. READ EVERYTHING! :) It may provide you with information to help you solve a puzzle. If you find something, or figure out a clue or a puzzle, don’t keep it to yourself. Let everyone know. Nothing wastes more time or is more frustrating than a team member working on a puzzle that another member has already solved, or searching for an item that someone has already found and failed to mention. It’s often helpful to take an inventory of items and solutions now and then so everyone can see the progress your team has made and so you can all work together to move forward. However, success isn’t always just about completing the mission. Our environments are designed to allow players to feel like they’ve entered another time and place. If you take your time and soak up the atmosphere, your experience will be that much more satisfying whether or not you complete the mission.
  • Are there places to shop or eat near you?
There are several great restaurants, shops & services right across the 101 freeway from Boggled in the Calabasas Commons shopping center, on Old Calabasas Road, and in the Topanga Mall & Village Mall in the nearby neighborhood! Please ask any staff member for a list and directions.
  • Are you hiring? And what are your hiring protocols?
We’re always looking for upbeat, creative people who love working in an exciting environment and who enjoy providing great customer service. We prefer to have escape room experience (both as a player and/or a staff member), to be presentable, to be a “people person,” and demonstrate politeness, thoughtfulness, good communication, a positive attitude, and a ready smile. Send us your resume at
  • What if I still have a question that wasn’t answered here, or I’m with the media looking to schedule an interview, or I wish to book a special event, or review your escape room?
Please call us at (818) 912-6868 or email us at We’ll be happy to answer any questions that we didn’t cover in the FAQ, to schedule an interview, or to discuss your special event. Official escape room reviewers with websites or an established presence on social media will receive comped tickets. We look forward to booking a fun, mind-boggling adventure for your team of Explorers at Boggled!
